The year of foundation of the Municipality of Kalayaan (June 11,
1978)
 
Lapu - Lapu
:
(Leopard Coral Grouper); This highly commercial species of a
grouper is found in plethora within the waters of the
Municipality of Kalayaan. The proper preservation and use of this
fish is seen to be the key to Kalayaan’s economic stability
 
Grey Gull
:
This species of seagull is present and abounding in the
islands of Kalayaan more particularly Lawak Island where they have
their habitat
 
Green Sea Turtle
:
Basically found in the Island of Pag-asa, Kalayaan, Palawan. This
gentle giant is highly seasonal. Pag-asa Island and Likas Island are
sanctuaries or home for this giant sea turtle
 
Silhoutte
:
Represents the seven habitable islands of the Municipality. It is also
represents the diverse population of the town coming from different
part of the country

:
Shows the Philippine map. The presence of the map signifies the
country’s claim to the disputed islets on this part of the world
